
Ife Sofola

Dr. Sofola is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology -Head and Neck Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia. He completed both his Internship in General Surgery and his Residency Training in Otolaryngology at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. He further Completed his fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Sofola completed 15 years of Meritorious active service with the United States Navy, culminating with the rank of Commander, and the position as the Chief of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. He currently continues to proudly serve as a reservist in the United States Navy. In addition to numerous military , Leadership and academic awards, Dr. Sofola received recognition by his peers and mentors with a prestigious achievement award presented by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for service to humanity and the advancement of the specialty. He continues to hold laudable leadership positions within the specialty.

Currently in private practice in Houston, Texas, Dr. Sofola brings with him a wealth of experience in hospital syndication and construction, having being a key leader in the formation of a highly successful group of Multi-million dollar hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and clinics in the greater Houston area. In addition, he was and remains instrumental in the formation and implementation of the Instituto Superioris de Medicina, in Mexico, an Institute for Medical Education and Certification in Aesthetic and reconstructive Surgery. His leadership within the hospital construction space as well as his large footprint in the humanitarian medical space in Africa, place him in a unique and valuable position to realize the core goals and dreams of the Foundation for Special Surgery.
